Its an amazing game overall and very rewarding if you choose to stick with it. The campaign is by far, in my opinion, the worst part of the game and shouldnt be mandatory, but if you reach the endgame dimension on one char, it opens for all, so thats nice. It does eventually grind to a halt though, but it takes a while and the journey there is very fun. Its a grind, but it feels rewarding as you get mastery points to spend to further upgrade your character. Then you perfect its sockets, its exact stats, and you fully upgrade it with true legendary power. Then you start enchanting your gear, permanently upgrading its stats. The cast in Smash Legends comprises re-imagined worldwide fairy tale characters, all. both stylistically and in mechanical fluidity. Then you maybe find a true legendary or two. Smash Legends resembles Super Smash Bros. You start max level with random items you found while levelling. Chronicon also has amazing gear progression imo. Maybe you found a cool item that supports a skill, maybe you itemize around a set bonus, its really fun. Summary: GrimGrimoire is a magic fantasy real-time strategy game in which a young wizard girl named Lillet struggles to uncover the truth in order to avoid reliving the same five days and impending disaster. You have a lot of skill points to distribute and it makes for some really fun theory crafting. Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem (I thought it had a lot of promise at the beginning, but now I'm not so sure waiting till full release to try it out again).Victor Vran (solid, but I prefer more open world over arcade hack and slash). The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut (solid enough, but I didn't enjoy it as much as the games above).Titan Quest: Anniversary Edition (I love the mythological settings and bright/colorful areas in comparison to Grim Dawn, but it takes forever to get to the highest levels and decent item drops are few and far between).Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (what a shame the company that made this wonderful game was so mismanaged).Torchlight 2 (really enjoyed this one too) GrimGrimoire: OnceMore (49.99) I feel like GrimGrimoire was a case of a game that was in the wrong place at the wrong time.Chronicon (excellent character/item progression despite a nearly non-existent story, I'm looking forward to full release). With the holidays coming up and probable Steam sales, I'm wondering if there are other offline Diablo-likes you'd recommend that I should keep my eyes on? I've played a lot of games, and right now Grim Dawn feels like the best single-player experience of the genre. Released in 2016, it currently has two expansions: Ashes of Malmouth and Forgotten Gods. This ARPG features complex character development, hundreds of unique items, crafting and quests with choice & consequence. Grim Dawn is an action role-playing game for the PC, developed by veterans of Iron Lore Entertainment, the creators of Titan Quest.Įnter an apocalyptic fantasy world where humanity is on the brink of extinction, iron is valued above gold and trust is hard earned.
